Lazio will vaccinate their squad tomorrow, but it’s reported four or five players are refusing the anti-COVID jab.

The controversy continues to grow over Serie A players who consider themselves anti-vaxxers and will not undergo the procedure.

It comes after Udinese, Spezia and Empoli all confirmed they had players who refused to get the vaccine, with others expected to emerge throughout the league.

According to La Repubblica, Lazio informed their squad that the jabs would be performed at their Auronzo di Cadore training camp from tomorrow, but four or five players refused.

The newspaper claims that coach Maurizio Sarri, President Claudio Lotito and the medical staff will try to speak personally to these players and convince them to accept the jab.

While the English Premier League is prepared to make vaccination compulsory for professional football players, the Italian authorities are reticent to follow suit.

Empoli announced today that they have six positive COVID cases in their matchday squad.
