In the final hour of the summer transfer window, Lazio are pushing to try and sign Manchester United exile Mason Greenwood, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The 21-year-old English winger has not played a competitive football match since January 2022, spending 18 months on the sidelines after being accused of sexual and violent crimes. Charges were initially pursued before being dropped in February of this year.

Manchester United allegedly began the process of reintegrating Greenwood into their squad this summer but abandoned the idea due to widespread public backlash, confirming that they’d look to find him a new club for this season.

As reported by Di Marzio, Lazio have not given up on Greenwood and are now pushing to get a deal across the line before the transfer deadline closes in Serie A.

The Biancocelesti are ready to pay the 21-year-old around €700,000 net per season and the player is open to the move to the Italian capital.
