Miroslav Klose has joined Lazio and President Claudio Lotito promised “more players of that level, as negotiations are continuing.”

The German international hitman signed a two-year contract after becoming a free agent from Bayern Munich.

“More players of that level will arrive at Lazio,” declared Lotito. “We have mapped out a plan of signings to make the squad more competitive.

“The first was Klose, who I believe holds the right technical and moral values we are looking for.

“Other negotiations are continuing with different players, even if I don't want to name names at this moment.

“We are interested in improving every area of the team and will do so in concrete fashion.”

It is widely reported that one of those reinforcements will be left-back Senad Lulic from Swiss outfit Young Boys.

Fernando Muslera is also on the verge of joining Galatasaray in exchange for midfielder Lorik Cana.

Their new goalkeeper should be Cagliari outcast Federico Marchetti, who has spent the last year in the stands due to a contract dispute.

The Biancocelesti are also close to signing Abdoulay Konko from Genoa.
