Lazio have confirmed that left-back Luca Pellegrini has suffered some minor injuries after being involved in a car accident on Friday morning.
Pellegrini recovering well after road accident
The club have confirmed that the former Roma and Juventus full-back was involved in a road accident on Friday, and that he has suffered some cuts and various bruises to his right leg.
The 25-year-old has already begun treatment for his injuries and is currently resting at his home.
Lazio confirm that he will also be subjected to daily monitoring from club doctors and that he will undergo another round of medical tests in a few days’ time.
Pellegrini will therefore not be involved for Saturday evening’s visit to Udinese in Serie A. It also remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to face Milan at the Stadio Olimpico next weekend. After that comes the international break.
Head coach Marco Baroni wished the defender well during his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“We wish Luca a speedy recovery. Fortunately he is fine, which is what my staff and I had all hoped for. Every day is precious.”
