The Court of Arbitration for Sport has ruled that Lazio must pay Feyenoord over €1m for Stefan de Vrij, after being scammed out of the final €2m instalment.
The Biancocelesti signed the defender in the summer of 2014, but were sent a fake email demanding the final €2m instalment, and they sent the money to the wrong bank account.
It was only later that they discovered the Eredivisie side hadn’t received the funds, and the case was referred to CAS.

Today the court has ruled that Lazio must pay over €1m in compensation to Feyenoord, who are continuing to push for the whole amount.
“We are indeed involved in a matter concerning the payment of the third and final part of the transfer fee for Stefan de Vrij,” spokesman Raymond Salomon explained.
“In the meantime, Feyenoord has received more than half of the outstanding amount by means of a judgment of the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
“Feyenoord is working on further measures and actions to also collect the remaining amount. With regard to the latter, Feyenoord will not be making any further announcements on this subject.”
