While German authorities have banned Liverpool from entering the country to play RB Leipzig, Lazio ought to be safe against Bayern Munich.
The news emerged this evening that Liverpool won’t be allowed as an exception to travel limitations during the pandemic, which run to at least February 17.
That means Liverpool’s Champions League Round of 16 tie with RB Leipzig will have to be played on neutral turf.

“The Corona Protection Ordinance passed by the German government last Friday provides for only a few exceptions and no special regulations for professional athletes,” read a statement from the German government.
“The Federal Police informed the club RB Leipzig today that the described case constellation does not fall under the exceptions.”
Arsenal are also in talks for their Europa League tie with Benfica to be played in a single game on neutral turf following restrictions on UK travel to Portugal.
However, Lazio and Italian clubs should not be affected, because Italy doesn’t have the same travel restrictions from Germany and Portugal.
This is because the country does not have anywhere near as many ‘variant’ COVID cases, in which the virus has mutated.
