Reports in Brazil claim that Lazio have made an offer for Santos centre-forward Marcos Leonardo, but have not yet reached the €20m asking price.
The striker turned 20 only last month and is currently starring for Brazil at the Under-20 World Cup, scoring four goals so far.
According to UOL Esporte, Lazio have been the club to make a formal approach for Marcos Leonardo and hope to bring him in as an understudy to Ciro Immobile this summer.
However, the proposal is still a long way off the figure that Santos want, which is currently €20m, and they hope that it will continue to rise with his performances at the Under-20 tournament.
Other teams including Roma and Sporting CP have also shown an interest in the striker, but again nobody has gone beyond a bid worth in the region of €15m.
In 21 appearances in all club competition this season, Marcos Leonardo has scored eight goals and provided three assists.
