Lazio were reportedly in contact with Juventus outcast Leonardo Bonucci late into Monday evening to discuss the possibility of a move to the Stadio Olimpico this summer.
As per Alfredo Pedulla, the 36-year-old’s priority is to remain in Italy. He had been subject of serious interest from Bundesliga side Union Berlin according to previous updates.
Pedulla reports that no official agreements have yet been reached between Lazio, Juventus and Bonucci’s entourage, but talks are very much underway.
Bonucci is completely out of the first team picture in Turin under Massimiliano Allegri and was left at home while the rest of the squad jetted off for a recent pre-season tour of the United States.
He had made a total of 26 appearances for the Bianconeri across all competitions last season.
There have also been rumours linking the former Juve and Italy captain to a number of different clubs in Serie A in recent days, including Fiorentina, but a week away from the start of the league campaign, Bonucci still finds himself without a club.
