Lazio president Claudio Lotito reportedly met the players yesterday and insisted the club trusts coach Maurizio Sarri who had argued with Luis Alberto two weeks ago.

Lazio have had many ups and downs this season, sealing wins against Roma and Inter, but losing to Bologna and Hellas Verona.

The club has sent the players into training retreat until Wednesday’s Serie A clash against Fiorentina and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Claudio Lotito met the team yesterday to confirm his trust in Sarri.

The club’s owner believes it’s ‘only a matter of time’ before the players adapt to Sarri’s playing style.

However, according to the report, not all players are convinced about the coach’s methods.

Luis Alberto is one of them as the Spaniard doesn’t seem to be in Sarri’s plans.

Luis Alberto likes anti-Sarri message on social media

The Tuscan tactician has claimed that only one between him and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic can play in midfield and Luis Alberto liked a social media post against the coach last week.

The Rome-based paper reports the former Liverpool man and Sarri had an argument during the October break at Formello.

It remains to be seen whether or not the 29-year-old will start against Fiorentina tomorrow.
