Lazio suffered a blow to both their Serie A and Europa Conference League ambitions after defender Alessio Romagnoli limped off with a hamstring injury against Atalanta.
The former Milan man was chasing down teenager Rasmus Hojlund at the Stadio Olimpico when he suddenly pulled up clutching the back of his left thigh.
He immediately waved to the bench that he needed to be substituted, suggesting he felt the injury was serious.
Romagnoli limped away to be replaced by Patric, but it remains to be seen how bad the damage is and how long he will be out for.
It comes at a bad time for Lazio, because they will play CFR Cluj in the Europa Conference League play-off on February 16 and 23.
The centre-back has been practically ever-present for Maurizio Sarri this season, playing 27 games between Serie A, the Europa League and Coppa Italia.
To matters worse in the League, Mattia Zaccagni was also booked and he will therefore be suspended for the next Serie A match against Salernitana.
