Lazio will be without Gustav Isaksen for approximately three weeks after he was diagnosed with a lesion to the left thigh muscle.

The player pulled up during the Coppa Italia 1-0 win over Genoa on Tuesday evening, in what was his third consecutive start in all competition after victories over Celtic and Cagliari.

A statement from the Lazio medical staff this evening confirmed the tests showed a lesion to the back of the left thigh.

More tests will be needed over the next few days to give a better assessment of the damage and likely time off the field.

However, it is already expected to be at least three weeks on the treatment table.

Isaksen made 15 official appearances for Lazio between Serie A, the Coppa Italia and Champions League, contributing just one assist.

He was signed from FC Midtjylland in August for €12m plus up to another €4m in various bonuses.

Isaksen is not the only absentee, as Patric also pulled up with a muscular issue in that game and is set to miss tomorrow’s Serie A trip to Verona.

Alessio Romagnoli, Isaksen and Patric are out of action, but Nicolò Casale, Luis Alberto, Mattia Zaccagni and Matias Vecino return.

Lazio squad for Verona: Mandas, Provedel, Sepe; Casale, Gila, Hysaj, Lazzari, Marusic, Pellegrini, Ruggeri; Basic, Cataldi, Guendouzi, Kamada, Luis Alberto, Rovella, Vecino; Castellanos, Felipe Anderson, Gonzalez, Immobile, Pedro, Sana Fernandes, Zaccagni
