Lazio will be without Lucas Biglia for at least three weeks, while Stefan de Vrij is on the road to recovery.

The Aquile are joint second with arch rivals Roma in the Serie A table following their 2-0 defeat to Juventus.

The club announced that Argentina international midfielder Biglia has a “multi-directional right ankle sprain” with damage to all three components.

He is forced to wear a cast to keep the ankle still and will undergo both medical therapy and physiotherapy.

“It’s premature to talk about a quick recovery. He won’t be able to resume physical activity for at least three weeks.

There was better news for defender De Vrij, who is “walking without pain” and worked in the pool today, but will certainly not be fit to face Chievo.

 

Stefan Radu was given the all-clear on his knee and will be available for this weekend.
