The Biancocelesti are looking to strengthen the middle of the park and, according to the Corriere dello Sport, have set their sights on Ligue 1.
The target is Bosnian creative midfielder Pjanic, who would be available as an EU player, and can play either behind the strikers or out wide.
His contract expires in 2013 and it's believed he could be snapped up for around €12m.
Lazio have a secret weapon in trying to sign the 21-year-old, as he is good friends with their summer purchase Senad Lulic.
