Lazio will sign Marchetti for €5.2m, the release fee inserted into the Rossoblu player's contract. They hope to pay that off over a period of three years.

Marchetti hasn't played a competitive game of football since the 2010 World Cup after a falling out with Cagliari owner Massimo Cellino.

He was linked with a move to Sampdoria last summer, but the deal collapsed and Marchetti was subsequently frozen out of the squad for a time.

Lazio won't complete the move for Marchetti until Muslera finds a new club. He has been paired with Galatasaray recently.
