Lazio are in a race against time as they work to sign Sporting winger Jovane Cabral before the transfer window closes this evening.

The Biancocelesti have not made a single purchase this month, frustrating for coach Maurizio Sarri, as they have been blocked by a cash flow issue. The departure of Denis Vavro to FC Copenhagen and Vedat Muriqi’s imminent move to Mallorca have allowed the Roman club to finally make an acquisition.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Lazio are ironing out the final details of a deal for Jovane with Sporting. The formula is set to be a loan deal with a €7m buy option attached, and he would join the club until the end of the season, with a further three year contract lined up.

The 23-year-old Jovane has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 707 minutes. In that time, he has scored three goals and provided one assist.

  1. Let’s keep bringing in mediocre foreign players ! This is great for our national team!

  2. yea but i guess the way Immobile and Milinkovic-Savic are playing they can carry the entire team to top 5 finish at the least.
    they should of gotten Ribery.

  3. @ Fabrizio
Yep exactly. I have been beating the same drum as your comment for a very long time now. It’s not going to stop it seems. Perhaps if we fail to make Qatar 2022 it might make the powers that be rethink about how we treat our Italian youngsters
