According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio have fined Luis Alberto, who delayed his return from summer vacation and appears to be pushing to leave the club.

The Spaniard was supposed to show up at Formello on Thursday to begin the pre-season under new coach Maurizio Sarri.

However, the former Liverpool man didn’t arrive at the training centre, irritating the club. Sporting Director Igli Tare urged the 28-year-old to join his teammates, but it remains unclear whether the Spaniard will travel to Auronzo di Cadore on Saturday morning to being the pre-season.

According to the report, Luis Alberto has indirectly informed Lazio that he wants to leave in the summer.

Juventus, Milan, Inter and Atletico Madrid have been linked with securing the player’s services, although Lazio haven’t received official offers yet.

Sarri is likely to discuss the issue during his unveiling press conference today.

Meantime, the Biancocelesti have secured the services of Elseid Hysaj and Felipe Anderson, who will soon join the team.

The 28-year-old joined Lazio in 2016 and his contract at the Stadio Olimpico expires in 2025.
