Maurizio Sarri isn’t the only one who is furious at Lazio’s dismal January transfer window, as the ultras have announced a protest against the ‘ridiculous and haphazard’ strategy of the club.

There are reports the coach is angry at the lack of reinforcements he had requested, as the only signing was winger Jovane Cabral on loan from Sporting CP with option to buy for a total of €9m.

Meanwhile, they loaned out Vedat Muriqi to Real Mallorca, Mohamed Fares to Torino, Denis Vavro to FC Copenhagen, Gonzalo Escalante to Alaves, Jony to Sporting Gijon, Bobby Adekanye to Crotone and Riza Durmisi to Sparta Rotterdam.

Rather than bring in another forward to act as understudy to Ciro Immobile, they are left with only the Italy international upfront.

Sarri furious after Lazio’s disappointing transfer campaign

Lazio ultras released a statement warning they will stage a protest at the Formello training ground on Thursday afternoon.

“We must protest at the stadium, at the training ground, in person and not just writing on social media.

“We had to sit and watch the usual ridiculous and haphazard transfer window, inspired by a project that does not exist.

“Lazio is ours and not belonging to those who run the club! The appointment is set for Thursday February 3 at 13.00 outside the Formello gates to scream all our disgust against this club that doesn’t care about its own fans!

“Starting from the excessive ticket prices to the effective weakening of the squad in the Winter transfer window!

“Never take a step back… Hands off Lazio!”
