UEFA could investigate Lazio’s Champions League play-off with Dinamo Bucharest after match-fixing allegations.
The controversy began when ex-Dinamo defender Cristi Pulhac told Romanian site ProSport that the game might’ve been fixed in August 2007.
Lazio won the second leg 3-1 to book their place in the Champions League group stage, having drawn 1-1 in Rome.

ProSport published further comments from a former Dinamo shareholder who also stated “the price paid was the amount for Radu’s transfer.
“It was agreed between the club directors and President Cristian Borcea had negotiated the deal with Claudio Lotito personally. Then Lazio would buy Stefan Radu, which they did,” claimed the anonymous former shareholder.
Dinamo had taken the lead on home turf, but in the second half Tommaso Rocchi’s brace and Goran Pandev turned it around.
Radu officially moved from Dinamo Bucharest to Lazio on loan for €1m in January 2008 with an option to buy for €3.5m and is still in the squad today.
“The amount was much higher and there was no loan. I can assure you,” added the source.
However, former players Daniel Oprita and Adrian Cristea told ProSport they noticed nothing unusual.
There are now reports in Romania that UEFA will begin an investigation into the allegations.
Borcea is currently in prison after losing his appeal against a six years and four months sentence for financial irregularities in transfers.
He sent transfer fees from foreign clubs to an off-shore account in order to avoid taxes.
