The situation came to a head during the Europa League match against Rennes on October 3, which resulted in UEFA closing a section of the Stadio Olimpico stands as punishment for the next match, along with a €20,000 fine.

President Claudio Lotito and SS Lazio have sent out individual letters to the supporters they identified.
“From the footage taken by UEFA and the consequent police investigation, it emerged that you are responsible for the sanctionable behaviour and charges will be brought against you.
“Quite apart from the penal aspects of your behaviour, this also inflicted serious economic damage on the club, which between missed ticket sales and the fine, counts for at least €50,000.
“On top of which, your behaviour violated the obligations of the Code of Ethics in place for fans who, such as yourself, bought the ticket and therefore agreed to respect.
“As only the fans identified are responsible for the damage to the club, we invite you to contact us so that you can agree a method of payment to reimburse Lazio.
“In the meantime, we inform you that the club has suspended your access to the Stadio Olimpico for the next three games.”
