Ivan Provedel remains a doubt for Lazio‘s Champions League game against Celtic as he has a fever, but still joined his teammates at the club’s training centre.

Lazio host Celtic at the Stadio Olimpico today at 17:45 GMT. It’s a must-win game for the Biancocelesti, who are just one point clear of third-placed Feyenoord in Group E.

Provedel didn’t train with his teammates on the eve of the game on Monday due to a fever and according to Sky Sport Italia, he hasn’t yet fully recovered.

The 29-year-old joined his teammates at the club’s training ground on Tuesday and has been included in Lazio’s squad list. However, fever hasn’t gone down, so it’s uncertain that he will start between the sticks. According to Sky, he is still likely to start, but Luigi Sepe is ready if his compatriot is eventually ruled out.

Provedel has been a key player for Lazio since joining the Biancocelesti from Spezia in 2022.

He kept the most clean sheets in the league last season and was named best Serie A goalkeeper for 2022-23. The Italy international even scored a goal this season, in a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the opening Champions League group-stage game this past September.
