Lazio could lose Luiz Felipe for free to Inter

Rumours are growing that Lazio defender Luiz Felipe Ramos will reject a contract extension, as he already has a deal with Inter.

It would be a bitter blow, especially as he’d be following in the footsteps of Stefan de Vrij, who also left Lazio as a free agent to sign for the Nerazzurri in 2018.

Luiz Felipe’s current contract with the Biancocelesti is due to expire on June 30 and it seems as if a new deal is increasingly unlikely.

According to Sportitalia and lalaziosiamonoi, the reason is that the centre-back already has a basic agreement in place with Inter.

They have proposed a five-year contract worth €2.7m per season.

He turns 25 next month and recently received his first call-up for the Italy squad, having played for Brazil at Under-20 and Under-23 level.

Luiz Felipe came to Italy for Lazio in 2016, going on loan to Salernitana for the first season on the Peninsula.

Ex-Biancocelesti coach Simone Inzaghi is forming something of a former Lazio colony at Inter, including De Vrij, Joaquin Correa and Felipe Caicedo.
