Mattia Zaccagni suffered a knee injury during Lazio’s match in the Europa League against Olympique Marseille and misses the trip to Hellas Verona.

The attacking midfielder arrived from the Gialloblu this summer but has struggled to establish himself at the Olimpico due to injuries.

Zaccagni wasn’t forced off against the French team on Thursday but has suffered a sprained right knee and the injury will be further examined in the coming days.

He will not be available for the match against his former club tomorrow, but the Biancocelesti forward could risk a month out.

“The medical staff reports that Mattia Zaccagni suffered a sprained right knee during the match between Lazio and Marseille,” the statement said. “He was immediately subjected to the necessary investigations and treatment.

“In the coming days, clinical and instrumental monitoring will be carried out to quantify the resumption of activity.”
