Lazio have confirmed that midfielder Luis Alberto suffered an injury to his thigh during the team’s 2-0 away victory over Empoli on Friday and that he is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
The update from Napoli’s club website on Wednesday afternoon confirmed specifically that the Spaniard has sustained a low-to-medium grade lesion to the adductor muscle in his left thigh.
Luis Alberto has already started treatment for the injury and will continue to be monitored over the next few days, according to Wednesday’s update.
Lazio have not provided an expected recovery time, however they do specify that the checks that will be carried out in the coming days will paint a clearer image in that regard.
Typically, a low-grade strain to the adductor tends to be a matter of weeks, rather than months. A Grade 1 strain can take around a fortnight to heal, while the recovery period from a Graded 2 strain can last around three to six weeks.
