Lazio director Igli Tare confirms they are ‘in negotiations’ with Real Mallorca, as Vedat Muriqi could move on loan with option to buy.

The striker is well down the pecking order at the Stadio Olimpico, as when Ciro Immobile is injured, Maurizio Sarri prefers to use Pedro or Felipe Anderson as a False 9 rather than rely on Muriqi.

Having been linked with CSKA Moscow, Leeds United, Hull City and others, it looks as if the Kosovo international might finally have found his next destination.

“We are in negotiations with Mallorca, there are still some elements missing before we reach an agreement,” Lazio director Tare told GazetaBlic Sport.

Sportitalia claim that Real Mallorca are close to accepting an obligation to buy at the end of the season if certain conditions are met.

This would therefore be a loan with some guarantee that Muriqi would not return to Lazio at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old centre-forward was signed from Fenerbahce in 2020 for €20m, but has scored only two goals for the club in all competition.
