Lazio confirm that Ciro Immobile has been diagnosed with a Grade I thigh strain and it remains to be seen how long he will be out for.
The striker limped off just 15 minutes into the 2-0 victory away to Sassuolo on Sunday afternoon, as he felt a twinge and wanted to avoid doing any further damage.
He had the necessary tests at the Paideia Clinic in Rome this evening and a statement from Lazio confirms there is a Grade I tear to the semi-tendon of the right thigh.
Immobile has already started physiotherapy and will be monitored on a daily basis.
More tests will be performed over the next few days to have a clearer idea of how long he will be out for, but this type of problem is going to require at least a couple of weeks.
Immobile had already sustained a muscular injury on October 16 and a relapse in November before the break for the World Cup in Qatar.
