There are reports Lazio have practically struck a deal with Arsenal to bring in Lucas Torreira for new coach Maurizio Sarri.

The negotiations had already been in progress for several days, as confirmed by Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more.

According to the latest rumours from transfer pundit Pedro Almeida, it can now be considered a done deal.

The Uruguay international spent this season on loan with Atletico Madrid and has no intention of returning to London.

He made just 26 competitive appearances for the Liga winners, contributing one goal and one assist.

It is expected to be a loan with obligation to buy for a total €15-20m.

The salary proposed by Lazio would reach €3m per season with bonuses, so a cut from the wages he earns at Arsenal.

The 25-year-old spent most of his career in Italy, with Pescara and then Sampdoria before the €28.5m move to Arsenal in 2018.
