“We have lost a player who was adapting very well to our mechanisms, but he is a strong guy and will come back stronger than before,” Pioli has considered to Lazio’s in-house radio service today.
“I have at my disposal an important squad and this is a big opportunity to demonstrate that Lazio is ready to adapt to these sort of situations.”
Lazio lost Gentiletti during a 1-0 defeat on Sunday to Genoa, even though they shaded the play.
“This morning we began again straight away. We have analysed the game, I’m lucky to coach a responsible group and one that is aware of the path we are on.
“They have done the analysis, so my task is simple. Now I prefer to talk about the next game, not to continue talking of having any regrets.
“We must find our competitive edge for the next game, against a tough opponent. I repeat, there is no need to say anything else about yesterday’s performance.
“The sadness is gone, now there is only much desire to repeat the performance but with a positive result. I am convinced that our future depends on ourselves, even if I am not here to say that it will be an easy path.
“We want to return to Europe, so it will be a difficult path, we will face teams that are very well equipped, but we enough value to be fighting until the end.”
