Lazio manager Marco Baroni was named Serie A Coach Of The Month for October, a month that saw his side win three league games out of four with some impressive displays.

The Bianconcelesti secured home victories against Empoli and Genoa before thumping Como 5-1 on the last day of October, showcasing all their offensive potential as well as the noteworthy work done by Baroni since taking charge of Lazio in the summer amid scepticism.

They lost 1-0 away to Juventus in mid-October but played with 10 men for more than one hour, and they’ll still have a chance to leapfrog the Bianconeri in the standings and move level points with Fiorentina and Atalanta by beating Cagliari on Monday.

Lega Serie A announced that Marco Baroni won the Coach of the Month award for October on Monday, adding that the award will be presented on the same night before the Biancocelesti take on Cagliari at the Stadio Olimpico.

“The award was assigned by a jury of Directors of sports media who evaluated each coach on the basis of technical and sporting criteria and the quality of play of their teams, as well as their behaviour/fair play during matches,” an official statement by Lega Serie A read.

“For the final calculation were considered the matchdays from 7 to 10 of Serie A 2024/2025.

“‘After an excellent experience with Hellas Verona last season, Marco Baroni is finding his definitive recognition with Lazio after his good seasons with Benevento and Lecce – commented Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo -.

His long path of growth has allowed him to become a tactically prepared, ductile and pragmatic coach, who has achieved his best results by combining analysis of the opponents, dialogue with the players and hard work, an attitude that is clearly evident in his team.

As his position in the standings in the Champions zone certifies, Lazio`s choice of Baroni is proving to be a brilliant intuition of the Biancoceleste club’.”
