Lazio ask Chelsea for Hudson-Odoi

Lazio are seeking a wide man for the trident attack, with Domenico Berardi of Sassuolo the first choice, but Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi might be more affordable.

The Biancocelesti have qualified for the Champions League and therefore need more options in the squad for coach Maurizio Sarri to perform some rotation.

Their interest in Berardi goes back a long way and they face competition from Juventus, but above all the Sassuolo asking price of over €30m is causing problems.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, the main alternative is Chelsea player Hudson-Odoi, who already worked with Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old can play on the right or left of attack and he could be allowed to move on loan with option to buy.

He just completed a loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen, where he made 21 competitive appearances, contributing one goal and one assist.

Hudson-Odoi has three senior caps for England under his belt, but they were all back in 2019.

Other options for Lazio include Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini and Matteo Politano of Napoli, but again they would be more expensive.
