Lazio and Napoli have both expressed interest in a January move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

Both clubs are keen to bolster their midfields this month as they look to stay involved in the race for a Champions League qualification spot. The Biancocelesti have done better than the defending champions in recent weeks and sit three points behind fourth place Fiorentina.

Neuhaus has started to slick down the pecking order at Borussia Monchengladbach this season, starting just once in their last eight Bundesliga outings. He is contracted to the German club until June 2027.

As reported by Di Marzio, Lazio and Napoli have both contacted Monchengladbach to request information regarding a loan deal with a buy option attached for Neuhaus.

The 26-year-old midfielder has seen 697 minutes of action across 16 matches for the Bundesliga side this term, scoring three goals and providing two assists in that time.

Napoli have also been heavily linked with a move for Udinese talent Lazar Samardzic but are now facing tough competition from Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton.
