Germany international Götze turns 28 next month and is after something close to his current €5m per year salary.
Several Italian clubs are interested, above all Lazio and Milan, while Roma could also see him as an understudy to Edin Dzeko.
Lazio are specialists at revitalising careers and Götze may well want to follow in the footsteps of Miroslav Klose at the Stadio Olimpico.
Milan have had a revolving door of forwards in their squad recently, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic also expected to move on.
Nice are the main French option, while some Premier League, Turkish and Chinese clubs could swoop with a proposal.
