Lazio striker and Italy international Ciro Immobile has announced the birth of his fourth child, named Andrea, part of a curious baby boom in his squad.
The centre-forward and wife Jessica already had two girls and a boy, so today welcomed son Andrea into the world.
“The family is getting bigger,” wrote Immobile on Instagram.
“In a day full of emotions, the best gift was given to me by you, Jessica, the real champion!!! Welcome Andrea. We love you.”
The news comes just as Immobile has sustained a serious muscular injury that it is feared could keep him out of action until 2023.
Lazio confirmed there is a medium-grade lesion to the left femoral bicep and more tests will be performed over the next few days to have a better idea of how long it will take to recover.
Last week, during the 2-2 Europa League draw with Sturm Graz, Immobile became the top all-time Lazio scorer in UEFA competitions with 21 goals, surpassing Simone Inzaghi’s record of 20.
Meanwhile, it is part of a baby boom within the Lazio squad, because Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s wife is expecting a baby girl, while Adam Marusic learned on his 30th birthday that the child his partner is expecting is also going to be a girl.
