Diego Laxalt’s agent revealed why the Inter midfielder rejected Almeria and Stuttgart for Empoli.
The Uruguayan wide man is set to complete the transfer tomorrow with the buy-out clause reportedly for €2m.
“Tomorrow morning we have an appointment with Empoli and hope to finalise all the details,” agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito told Tuttomercatoweb. “What is certain is that it’ll be on loan, then we’ll see the figures.
“The player had two important offers from Almeria in Spain and Stuttgart in Germany, but his objective was to make his mark in Italy.
“Last season he had six good months at Bologna, but the second half of the campaign was less so because of the numerous problems at the club and changes of management.
“He wants to give his best in Serie A, because his ultimate aim is a return to Inter. Similarly, Inter prefer him to stay in Italy so they can follow his progress better. The Nerazzurri think highly of him.”
