Lars Halgreen, lawyer of Juventus target Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, says the Tottenham midfielder wants to finish the season in North London and insists he ‘never asked to leave’ in January.

The 28-year-old Denmark international has been linked with a move to Juventus for a long time, but he is not going to leave Tottenham in the January transfer window.

His lawyer Lars Halgreen released an interview with Sky Sports Deutschland on Monday saying that his client will stay at the club until the end of the season.

“Despite rumours and noise, the player always kept focusing on helping the team, coaches and Tottenham,” said Halgreen.

“The player never asked to leave now. He’s very ambitious for Tottenham and Denmark. Continuing to keep improving himself, like he did all his career. He’s a strong character and player, his only focus is Tottenham to finish the season well and to help as much as possible. Pierre always liked challenges.”

Juventus still have a tight transfer budget available following Moise Kean’s loan move to Atletico Madrid, so Sky Sport Italia hasn’t ruled out that the Old Lady will sign a new central midfielder in the final days of the January transfer window.

In any case, Højbjerg won’t be the January reinforcement for the Serie A giants as he has officially committed his future to Spurs, at least until the end of the season.
