Luigi Chiappero, the defence lawyer for ex-Juventus directors Marco Re e Stefano Bertola in the ‘Prisma’ investigation, insists Turin Prosecutor Ciro Santoriello ‘never confused football with legal rights.’
A video of Santoriello dating back to 2019 has gone viral in Italy as it showed one of the three Turin Prosecutor investigating Juventus’ finances say that he hatest the Bianconeri.
Nevertheless, Chiappero, the defence lawyer of ex-Juventus directors Re and Bertola in the criminal investigation Prisma and the former lawyer of the Old Lady in the Luis Suarez case, defended the Turin Prosecutor in an interview with La Stampa.
“Santoriello is an educated magistrate, who has never confused football with legal rights,” said Chiappero.
“I would remember that he dismissed another case involving Juventus in the past.”
Chiappero refers to a previous financial proceeding against the Bianconeri that was closed as Santoriello didn’t highlight any wrongdoing from the Serie A giants and their directors, including President Andrea Agnelli.
The video that has gone viral on social media was shot in 2019 when the Turin Prosecutor explained why he didn’t take action against the Bianconeri.
