Although not reaching the €32m needed to activate the buy-out clause in his contract, Napoli are prepared to hand over the striker to Carlo Ancelotti’s Paris Saint-Germain.

Their proposal is €27.5m cash, plus performance-related bonuses and the profits from a friendly between Napoli and PSG set to be organised in August.

Lavezzi would receive a contract worth €4m per season plus bonuses.

The hitman is currently in Argentina on international duty for a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Ecuador, but could return to Europe to undergo his medical.
