Ezequiel Lavezzi has cooled rumours of a summer exit by suggesting that he will remain at Napoli.

The Argentine, 26, has been paired with Inter as rumours of a possible transfer at the end of the season won’t go away.

However, speaking to Sky Sport Italia on Wednesday, the former San Lorenzo forward doesn’t believe he’s on his way out of the Stadio San Paolo.

“I believe that I will still be here next season,” he stated. “I’m happy in Naples, I have a long contract and I’m calm.”

The South American, signed by Napoli in 2007, is currently tied to the Azzurri until the summer of 2015.

However, it is believed that he does have a buy-out clause inserted into his paperwork which is set at €31m.

Lavezzi has netted four goals in 18 Serie A games so far this season. He hasn’t scored in any of his six Champions League appearances.
