Alejandro Camaño, the agent of Lautaro Martinez, discussed his client’s future, the upcoming World Cup and his happiness in Milan.
The 24-year-old Argentinian forward is having a great season under Simone Inzaghi, scoring 17 goals in 32 Serie A appearances, and his strong work is continuing to attract the attention of a number of top clubs, including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Contracted the Nerazzurri until 2026, Lautaro looks set to be the club’s leading man for the next few years.
Speaking on the TV show ¿Cómo te va?, Camaño first discussed Lautaro’s growth and the arrival of a new generation.
“Lautaro is growing as a player, let’s not forget that we are talking about a 24-year-old player. He is already consolidating himself as one of the most important strikers on the international scene.
“A new generation of strikers is coming into the world, there is the decline of several strikers over 35 years old, like Ronaldo, Benzema and the generation of guys like Lautaro is coming.”
Lautaro’s agent looked ahead to the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
“Lautaro is excited to play with the Argentinian national team, they are all with Messi and we believe this will be Messi’s World Cup. If Lautaro can score as many goals as he can to bring this joy to the country, then he will have done everything possible.
“Argentine players are dying to come to the national team, they have it stamped in the fire. Lautaro has this idea, he’s working to reach the top of the World Cup.”
Camaño then gave his thoughts on the future of the Inter striker.
“Lautaro is very focused on the World Cup, sometimes the press publishes things about a possible transfer, but Lautaro thinks about Inter, giving joy to the Inter fans, becoming champions and then working for the World Cup.
“We are not expecting or looking for a transfer, he is at Inter, he is happy, the city is wonderful. We’re thinking about Inter.”
Finally, Camaño discussed how Lautaro will bring joy wherever he goes in his career.
“Lauti will give us a lot of joy in the coming years, wherever he goes he will be an entertainer. He comes from a super team like Racing, he suffered, now he is happy and he has got used to the fact that football is not always the same. Now he will be successful everywhere.”
