Inter striker Lautaro Martinez felt the Nerazzurri ‘deserved a lot more’ after the 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri started with a home game against Los Blancos at San Siro and gave the Spanish giants a real test in the opening game.

Despite having enough chances to score, Inter couldn’t find a way past Thibaut Courtois and were punished by substitute Rodrygo, who scored the winner in the 89th minute.

Brozovic: ‘We could have won 3-0’

Argentine Lautaro Martinez said the Beneamata must continue pushing and work hard to ‘improve’ the mistakes, but stressed the team has to look at the positives too.

“We deserved a lot more,” Lautaro said. “We know how tough the Champions League is and who we were playing against.

“If you don’t score, the defeat can arrive at any moment. You can’t afford anything against teams like Real.

“Now, we must think about working. We have to improve where we went wrong, without forgetting all the good things we have done.

“We have to keep it with us and work more.”

  1. Though Perisic and Çalhanoğlu didn’t contribute anything last nite, he should be more clinical.
