Lautaro Martinez said he will stay at Inter ‘even if Antonio Conte leaves’ and said his representatives are working on a renewal with the Nerazzurri.
The Argentine striker has reassured fans he will remain at the club, even if Conte should decide to part ways with the Beneamata this summer.
“I like Conte, but even if he leaves, I’m an Inter player and I will continue to work for Inter,” Lautaro told Libero.

The Argentine striker has reassured fans he will remain at the club, even if Conte should decide to part ways with the Beneamata this summer.
“I like Conte, but even if he leaves, I’m an Inter player and I will continue to work for Inter,” Lautaro told Libero.
“The moment we are living is clear to me, we will talk to the club and find a solution. We must understand all together.
“We are very calm and focused on what happens on the pitch.”
The striker has formed a great partnership with Romelu Lukaku over the last two seasons and the 23-year-old has contributed 16 goals in 35 Serie A games this term.
But the former Racing Club attacker admitted he was close to joining Barcelona last year.
“There was a real possibility. But we finished the season late, there were COVID problems and I chose to stay,” Lautaro continued.
“Luckily, I’ll tell you! It was the right decision. We talked to [Lionel] Messi about it in the national team, but he never insisted.”
Lautaro has since been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but said he has not heard anything from Los Blancos.
“Believe me, I don’t know anything,” he continued. “I saw this thing came out, but I’m enjoying the moment and I’m not thinking about anything.
“We want to finish the season well.”
However, he has thought about his renewal with the Nerazzurri.
“I don’t know if it’s already time, but we are working with the club. My representatives talk to the managers,” he said.
“The agreement will be found. I’m calm, I live day by day. I’m too happy to be here, to be part of this project.
“Even when I was at Racing, I did like this. If I sign a contract, I’ll respect it. If the club thinks I deserve more, they will call me. I listen, and in the meantime… I work.”
