Lautaro Martinez’s agent confirms he is working on the final ‘details’ of a new contract. ‘We want to continue together and the important thing is he’s very happy at Inter.’
The Argentina international was reportedly the subject of €90m offers from Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid over the summer, but the club refused to sell, having already handed Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea in a deal worth €115m.
Instead, the Nerazzurri are on the verge of locking Lautaro Martinez down to a new contract at San Siro with increased salary and possibly a release clause.
“It’s not done yet, we are working with Inter and are really in sync,” agent Alejandro Camano told FCInter1908.
“There are still a few details to be worked out before we can close the deal. We want to continue together and the important thing is Lautaro is very happy at Inter.”
The 24-year-old was purchased from Racing Club Avellaneda in 2018 for €25m and his current contract runs to June 2023.
He has found the net 50 times with 20 assists in 133 competitive appearances for Inter.
