Lautaro Martinez is the favourite to partner Edin Dzeko upfront for Inter in Saturday’s derby with Milan, as Alexis Sanchez is not back in training yet.
The Derby della Madonnina kicks off at San Siro on Saturday at 17.00 GMT.
It is an early fixture in the Serie A weekend, so the schedule of the return from international duty in South America could prove decisive when picking the line-ups.
Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez were both on target this week for Argentina and Chile respectively in their World Cup qualifiers.
While Lautaro Martinez returned via a charter flight organised by the Argentine football federation and was in training today with coach Simone Inzaghi, the same is not true of Alexis Sanchez.
He had to take several different flights, changing at Santiago de Chile after leaving Bolivia.
The Chilean won’t be back in training until Friday, just over 24 hours before the big match.
It therefore seems inevitable that Lautaro Martinez will partner Dzeko, especially as Joaquin Correa is injured and new arrival Felipe Caicedo has barely played for Genoa so far this season.
The only real doubt for the starting XI is between Denzel Dumfries and Mattia Darmian on the right.
