Lautaro Martinez admits he’s not happy with Inter‘s draw and performance against Real Sociedad: ‘There’s a lot to improve.’

A late goal from the Argentinean striker helped the Nerazzurri secure a 1-1 draw at the Anoeta Stadium against Real Sociedad in the opening game of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Italia after the game, Lautaro admitted not being satisfied with what he had seen.

“No, because we didn’t do what we had prepared. We struggled and there’s a lot to improve,” he said.

Does Inter’s busy fixture list have anything to do with their poor performance?

“I don’t think it’s because of that,” admitted Lautaro.

“We faced a team that pressed high, we were not good enough at attacking the space, we were always offside and when you face these sorts of teams it’s always hard. It happened in the derby too sometimes, so we have to work on this.”

At least, the Nerazzurri didn’t lose the game.

“That’s the important thing. We knew they were a strong side and many teams have struggled against them,” argued the Argentinean.

“The stadium is small but the fans are close. It was important not to lose otherwise it would have been difficult, it’s important to return home with one point.”
