Lautaro Martinez is finalising a contract extension with Inter and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri hope to announce the striker’s new deal by the first week of 2024.
El Toro is ready to commit his future to Inter by signing a new deal until June 2028 at least, Gazzetta reports.
The striker’s agent has been in talks with the Nerazzurri directors for a few weeks and according to the report the two parties are on the verge of reaching an agreement.
Lautaro will get €7m per season with his new deal at the Stadio Meazza, becoming the highest earner at the club.
According to Gazzetta, Inter are confident of announcing Lautaro’s contract extension by January 6, 2024.
Alejandro Camano, the striker’s representative, has recently said that his client could stay at Inter ‘for life.’
Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has repeated several times over the last few months that Lautaro wants to continue with the Nerazzurri.
The 26-year-old striker, a 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina, is the current Serie A leading scorer with 13 goals in 14 league appearances. Overall, he has scored 117 goals in 257 games with Inter.
