It has been quite the last few months for Lautaro Martinez, who lifted the World Cup with Argentina in Qatar and is now ready to focus on his club football with Inter.

“My dream now is to lift the Champions League trophy. After winning the World Cup, you feel hungry to keep winning,” he told Amazon Prime Italia.

It was not the best tournament for Lautaro Martinez, who failed to score a goal and lost his starting spot.

“I feel all that pent up anger at not being able to prove what I can do in Qatar, considering the ankle injury I was carrying, so I want to prove it for Inter instead and hope to continue like this.”

The Argentina international is increasingly a leadership figure at Inter and has even become the captain after Milan Skriniar decided not to renew his contract.

“I am more mature now, more calm both on and off the field. I became a father and my life changed with the arrival of my daughter. I want to transmit that maturity on the pitch now as well as off it.”

His family is set to grow, as partner Agustina confirmed she is expecting the couple’s second child.

Meanwhile, his partner on the pitch at Inter keeps changing, as Dzeko and Lukaku are somewhat interchangeable. “Romelu likes to play more between the opposition defenders to turn them, while I like to seek the space between the lines. With Edin, we keep a close eye on each other and adjust depending on the situation. I am learning a lot from both of them.”
