Lautaro Martinez’s agent assures he has ‘not spoken to any other clubs’ and tells the fans their captain ‘loves Inter, so there is no need to worry’ about his contract extension.

The striker was named MVP in Serie A for the 2023-24 season today, along with being joint top player in the EA Sports TOTS with Theo Hernandez.

“We are happy to see him win this award, it is a consequence of all he has done with Inter this season,” agent Alejandro Camano told TV Play.

“He is still young and had an incredible campaign. As for his future, we are talking about an Inter player and we have total respect for the Nerazzurri.”

The situation around his contract is up in the air, as it is due to expire in June 2026, but the negotiations have dragged on for a long time and inevitably will be affected by the change of ownership at Inter.

“I have not spoken to any other clubs regarding his future and I have no intention of doing so. I am only talking to Inter over a possible renewal, even if Lautaro does still have two more years on his contract with the Nerazzurri.

“It’s only logical that other teams want him, but I am only talking to Inter.”

Speculation over Lautaro Martinez salary demands

There have been reports recently that Lautaro Martinez was asking for €14m per season wages, whereas the proposal from Inter was closer to €8m.

“I don’t think the fans need to know the figures. I obviously only speak to Inter about that. There is talk of 12 or 14 million, but I repeat, these are issues between Lautaro and the club. Besides, these are numbers I never mentioned and neither did Inter. Why should we talk about this?

“Let us instead talk about his love for Inter. The fans must know that Lautaro loves the city of Milan and this team. Lautaro loves this club, so there is no need to worry.”

Although Suning and the Zhang family are no longer in control, replaced by Oaktree after failing to repay the €395m loan this week, the directors remain the same.

“Obviously, we need to see what the new club owners think about Lautaro Martinez,” concluded the agent.
