Lautaro Martinez’s agent insists the striker ‘is not leaving Inter, despite offers from England,’ and will meet to discuss a new contract next week.

The Argentina international is repeatedly linked with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Atletico Madrid, with offers reported to be in the region of €70m.

After selling Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea for €115m, the Nerazzurri are determined not to lose their other striker as well.

“As of today, he is not leaving Inter, despite the offers from England,” agent Alejandro Camano told TyC Sports in Argentina.

“He is happy there and he loves the club. We will meet next week to discuss the contract renewal. Our intentions are clear, but it also depends on them.”

Lautaro Martinez’s current contract runs to June 2023 and his agent has so far been in absolutely no rush to negotiate an extension, raising question marks over his future.

There have been suggestions in the Italian media that €90m could begin to sway Inter, but anything less is simply not going to create a split here.

The other issue of course is that Inter are in the Champions League, unlike Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

‘Toro’ turns 24 later this month and was signed from Racing Club Avellaneda in 2018 for €25m.

Last season, Martinez found the net 19 times along with 11 assists in 48 competitive games for the club.

He was also instrumental in Argentina’s Copa America triumph alongside Lionel Messi.
