Lautaro Martinez and Francesco Acerbi maintain Inter have not completed the job against Milan and complain about a lack of attention and intensity in the second half.

The Nerazzurri secured a comfortable 2-0 win over city rivals Milan in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday.

The start was impressive, with Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan scoring one goal each in the opening 11 minutes. However, both Acerbi and Lautaro are not entirely satisfied with Inter’s performance.

“We didn’t start well in the second half, we could have conceded a goal so we need to pay attention in the second leg. We scored two goals today, but they could do the same the next time,” warned Acerbi during a post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia.

“It all depends on the group and the desire to achieve something unthinkable at the beginning of the year.”

Lautaro agreed: “We had the right approach, and the two goals gave us serenity, but we should have played better in the second half because we lowered the intensity.

“It’s an important result for us, but the job has just started. It’s a derby and details always make the difference. We must think about Serie A now, then we’ll focus on the return leg,” concluded the Argentinean striker.

Milan star Rafael Leao missed the game due to an adductor injury but could be back for the second leg.

“It’s an added value for them because he’s their best player,” argued Acerbi.

The Portuguese striker watched Inter’s triumph from the sidelines at San Siro tonight looking distraught after Inter’s early goals in the first half.

The second leg will be played on Tuesday, May 16 and it will be a home fixture for the Nerazzurri. The winner will face Real Madrid or Manchester City in the Istanbul Final on June 10.
