Alejandro Camano, the agent of Lautaro Martinez, made it clear that a raise is needed for his client’s next contract with Inter.

The 26-year-old Argentinian striker has just over two years left on his contract with the Nerazzurri, pushing the club to try and set up a new deal ahead of the fast-approaching summer transfer window.

Lautaro has continued to be a key star for Inter and drove the team forward to the Scudetto this season, scoring 27 goals and providing seven assists in 44 appearances across all competitions, proving himself to be one of the strongest strikers in European football.

Lautaro agent on new contract

Speaking to FcInterNews, Camano first discussed the current position of Lautaro in contract talks with Inter.

“The Nerazzurri have recently changed to a new ownership. So, I guess they have to sort out their internal issues. We’ll see each other then, as always. They’re a club I love, Lautaro feels 100% an integral part of them.

“He still has two years left on his contract, this means there are two years left on his contract to define the situation. Until 2026 only Inter can make the decision to sell him. At the moment he is super happy with the current contract until 2026.”

He confirmed that Lautaro wants to sign a new long-term deal with the club.

“Inter want to renew. And we have already said yes, because Lautaro is very happy at Inter. With the discussion starting from the fact that Lautaro, compared to when he last renewed, is even more special for the Nerazzurri.

“I’ll add: his loyalty to Inter is absolute. He wants to stay and renew, but we will have to talk about what a player he has become today. If for the whole world he is comparable to a Haaland, an Mbappé, to players of the highest international level, we must start from here.

“You know, in Italy there are footballers who earn more and have done less. I will have to address all these issues with Inter when we see each other. We have not spoken to any club about his possible transfer, precisely because he wants to stay in Milan.”

The agent was asked about his client’s recent suggestion that the two parties would meet again this week.

“What he meant to say is that we will always be able to see each other until the contract expires to renew with Inter. Lautaro wants an agreement to stay in Milan. We will discuss everything. Lautaro has a deep and real love for the fans and for the shirt.

“But we are still talking about a professional agreement. And we will have to make a professional agreement. It is therefore essential to explain to people that Lautaro is available to find an agreement with the Nerazzurri, but not in any way. In a way that makes Inter happy. And Lautaro.”

Camano was asked if the Inter star wants €10m net per season in wages.

“The possible amount of the agreement does not matter. Things change over time. Lautaro today is one of the top scorers in Europe. So, we will need an agreement that makes everyone happy.”

Finally, Camano tried to calm fans regarding Lautaro’s contract.

“You shouldn’t be afraid, because they know that Lautaro loves Inter. Then of course, the profession of a footballer is short. And Martinez’s situation must adapt to that of the market.

“In the meantime, he continues to tell me not to listen to any other clubs, because he wants to stay at Inter under the right conditions. Lauti is an honest person, he will do anything to stay in Milan.

“We are ready to come to Milan as often as Inter wants to try to find an agreement. We never thought about leaving. In fact, we would like to stay for life. I hope and believe it can be like this.”
