Lapo Elkann has taken to social media to mourn the death of Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez’s baby son.

The former Juventus star announced the death of his newborn twin boy yesterday.

“It is with deep sadness we have to announce that our baby boy passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” Ronaldo and his partner Georgina said in a joint statement.

Lapo Elkann, the cousin of Juventus President Andrea Agnelli and brother of John, chairman and CEO of Exor, the holding company controlled by the Agnelli family that owns a controlling stake in Juventus, sent out a message to the former Bianconeri star on social media.

“Your sorrow is our sorrow. We are all with you, Georgina and your family. I love you so much,” Lapo wrote.

Ronaldo and Lapo are close friends and the latter claimed in October that he was sad that the Portuguese had left the Bianconeri.

“We are close friends, I can say that he is a great person and a generous man,” Lapo said during the unveiling of the new FIGC logo. “I send him a big hug and ask him not to score against Juventus if we’ll ever meet again.”

Cristiano Ronaldo spent three seasons at Juventus, scoring 101 goals in 134 appearances with the Serie A giants.
